Book on Taxonomy of Neotropical Muscidae

The current knowledge of the dipterofauna of the Neotropical Region suffers from two main difficulties: an overwhelming species richness and a very small number of specialists to study it. This book is the result of 25 years dedicated to the study of the taxonomy of flies in the family Muscidae. Its main scope is a comprehensive review of the taxonomy of all groups of these flies known to occur in the neotropics, including keys for the identification of all genera and species. Before undertaking any study of a basic or practical nature, it is always necessary to know with whom we are dealing, or, in other words, to know who is who — that is the beginning of everything.
